Why We Need You

The Shakopee Team Project was called to start a new church in the Twin Cities Metro area. The vision that God has put on our hearts and the hearts of the conference administrators is for this church to be structured for unlimited growth through creative staffing, relevant evangelism, and creating an expanding network of new churches that spread the gospel and prepare the community for Christ’s soon return.

As a church, we rely entirely on people being willing to step forward to offer their time, energy, talents, and money to make this possible.

How can you get involved?

Prayer

E. M. Bounds said, “Prayer is not preparation for the battle. Prayer is the battle.” One of the things that we’ve come to realize is how little we can really do on our own. God has called us to a spiritual battle that is much larger than our strength to deal with it. But we have found that major breakthroughs take place when we learn to rely completely on God and as we intentionally listen for His leading. You can get involved by becoming one of our Prayer Partners or Prayer Warriors.

Prayer Partners commit to praying for the general needs of the Shakopee Team Project on a regular basis. Every month, we’ll be posting a new project prayer guide on our website. We invite you to become one of our Prayer Partners. Please drop us a line and let us know you’re praying for us.

We also have a smaller group of Prayer Warriors that we are leaning on for very personal, specific prayers during this journey. These people are committed strict confidentiality and to praying for a specific amount of time every day. They will receive updates through our password protected Prayer Warriors posts.

Time

If you live in the Twin Cities Metro area and would like to volunteer your time as a short-term mission project, we would love to talk with you. We will need help doing door-to-door surveys, running errands, doing kindness evangelism projects, and becoming a beacon of light in our community.

Donations

It was because of very generous donations that the Minnesota Conference was able to fund our salaries for this project. As we’ve calculated out our expenses to start up this church, we realize that we’ll need about $80,000 for our first year. Some of that is for one-time equipment purchases. Some is for ongoing church and office rental. And quite a bit of that is for advertising, outreach, and discipleship programs.

By God’s grace, we already have about $65,000 in pledges toward that goal. But we need your help to make up the next $15,000. Please consider making a donation in one of the following ways:
